Declining Participation

A Supply Crisis Manufactured by DPR's Own Staffing Failures

DPR presented declining enrollment numbers as evidence that demand for gymnastics is fading. But they stripped the data of the context that explains why participation dropped.

What DPR Left Out

DPR once offered 200–300 rec gymnastics sections per year at Barcroft. That number has been cut roughly in half. 59 classes were cancelled in FY25. 51 classes cancelled in FY26. Over 100 cancelled in FY22. Each cancellation reduces enrollment slots, which reduces revenue, which makes cost recovery look worse.

The Bottom Line

This is a supply crisis driven by DPR's own staffing and retention failures — not a demand problem. The 1,300-person waitlist proves families want the program.
